Find My Supplies Sustainability Values

Find My Supplies has developed several sustainability initiatives and environmental values that we wish to better inform our audience and customers of.

Whilst during our time writing on this blog we have been helping to promote how HP are helping themselves and others to become more sustainable, we also feel it’s important to tell you more about what we’re doing to play our part too.

Here at Find My Supplies, we believe that it’s within everyone’s interests (including our customers, our employees and the global communities) to dedicate our time to helping find new ways to ensure our business is making a positive environmental impact.

We believe that being protective of the natural environment will both help comfort any concerns of our customers along with helping to produce a better-quality working environment for all, providing further support for our wider communities.

Our Environmental Aims

With our focus on sustainability and environment protection in mind, we have developed several aims and objectives that we are striving to achieve by the years 2020 and 2022.

By 2020 we hope to:

• Maintain zero waste being sent to landfill
• Reduce our consumption of single use plastics by 30%

And by 2022, we aim to:

• Reduce our electricity and gas consumption by 30%
• Reduce our water consumption by 10%
• Lessen the amount of waste we produce by 20%
Increase the biodiversity at our sites
• Reduce greenhouse gas production by 20%

Current Find My Supplies Sustainability Initiatives

All the aims and objectives we listed above will not be possible without new sustainability and eco-friendly initiatives being introduced at Find My Supplies at current and in the near future.

Through the following three actions, we will be on track to reach our environmental aims, keeping both the planet safe and your conscience when using our website, at ease.

Void Fill

In a direct response to our aim in reducing single-use plastics by 30% before 2020, Find My Supplies has introduced eco-friendly packaging throughout our warehouses.

The new packaging fill of recycled cardboard is used for our small pick parcels, of which we deliver an estimated 6,000 of every week.

Additionally, we are recycling any used or damaged cardboard boxes into shock absorbent netted material and are shredding and recycling over 16,000 cubic square meters of cardboard per year.

Zero Waste to Landfill

Our warehouse sites in the UK are all zero waste to landfill, meaning that all the waste we produce is recycled.

We are actively driving down our overall waste by providing recycling facilities across all our sites, with a dedicated supplier assisting us with recycling our broken pallets.

Alongside this, work is regularly being done with both our customers and our company partners in order to research into innovative ways to further reduce waste.

Lighting and Water Usage

We have been implementing several energy and water efficiency measures with the company, such as LED lighting and the roll out of other low energy consumption devices into the workplace.

In terms of our water usage, we have been installing water meters and have run education campaigns in order to encourage less water usage.

With all these new measures considered, we have also achieved the industry standard certificate of ISO 14000, which demonstrates our commitment to designing and implementing an effective environmental management system.
