The Benefits of a Multifunctional Printer

A traditional office may see multiple machines that all serve one exact purpose. For example your office may have a printer, a scanner, a fax machine and a photocopier, all completely separate. This may work perfectly fine for some offices, after all with individual machines it means that more people can use all four at the same time.

But while it may be useful, this can have multiple negatives for everyone, including the office itself. Four separate machines will take up far more space than needed, in particular a large and bulky photocopier, and it is also likely to cost more to buy them all individually.

The alternative to these is a multifunctional printer – one machine that can print, scan, fax, copy and even email in some cases. They are the modern solution for modern offices, helping to save on space and potentially save on money as well.

Introducing Multifunctional Versatility

On Find My Supplies we have a range of multifunctional printers available to buy, and many of them offer a versatile way to connect. Printers such as the HP LaserJet Pro M521dn printer can support both wired networking as well as printing apps such as HP ePrint or Apple AirPrint.

So why is this good news for offices?  Well usually in an office there will be a printer available for a set number of employees, for example one printer for 40 people. But what happens if some of these people have laptops or tablets on them instead of using a traditional computer? By offering wireless technology it means that everyone can print with ease, no matter where they are in the office.

As well as this, some modern multifunctional printers offer email capability. This will allow you to scan a document and send it directly to your email instead of wasting paper and toner or ink by printing it out. This not only helps to encourage environmental friendliness by reducing the amount of paper used, but can also save a company money.

It Doesn’t Have To Be Toner

While laser printing is probably the most common type of multifunctional printer, there are inkjet multifunctional printers available as well. As discussed in our previous article comparing Ink to Toner, this could be particularly ideal for smaller offices, or even home offices, as it can save money even further.

The HP Pagewide Pro MFP 477DW Multifunction Printer is an inkjet printer that offers you the ultimate control, giving you a variety of ways to connect as well as giving you the fast print speeds you want. While a multifunctional printer may not offer the preferred amount of prints or the copy/scan resolution that is ideal, it’s important or remember that it still offers great value for money.
